Eagles Sign Former Giants Lineman Evan Neal to Practice Squad
The No. 7 overall pick in 2022 signs with the Eagles three days after the Raiders released him from their practice squad and 17 days before the Giants visit Philadelphia.
The Philadelphia Eagles signed former Giants offensive lineman Evan Neal to their practice squad Thursday.
Philadelphia also signed running back Jaydon Blue and linebacker Anfernee Orji to the practice squad and waived tight end E.J. Jenkins. The Eagles listed Neal as a guard.
The Giants drafted Neal No. 7 overall in 2022 out of Alabama. He started 27 of the 29 games he played for them from 2022 to 2024.
The Giants re-signed Neal as an unrestricted free agent March 11, then released him Aug. 30 in the cut to 53 players. The Las Vegas Raiders signed him to their practice squad Sept. 3 and released him Monday.
The Giants play at Philadelphia on Sunday, Nov. 8. As a practice-squad player, Neal would have to be elevated or signed to the 53-man roster to play in that game.
