The Giants still lead the NFC East by 1.5 games after Week 6. They lost at home, and every other team in the division also lost.

The Giants (3-2-1) fell 34-27 to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday at MetLife Stadium. The Carolina Panthers beat the Philadelphia Eagles 25-14 Sunday, the Green Bay Packers beat the Dallas Cowboys 23-13 Sunday night and the San Francisco 49ers beat the Washington Commanders 23-17 Monday night.

In the NFL standings, Philadelphia and Dallas are both 2-4 and Washington is 1-4-1. The NFL counts a tie as half a win and half a loss, so the Giants are 1.5 games ahead of the Eagles and Cowboys and two games ahead of the Commanders. The margin over Philadelphia and Dallas is the same as it was before Week 6, when the Giants were 3-1-1 and both teams were 2-3.

No NFC East team has won since Week 4. In Week 5, the Giants and Commanders tied 27-27 in overtime, Jacksonville beat Philadelphia 19-17 and Tampa Bay beat Dallas 24-16.

The Giants are 1-0-1 in division games, with a Week 1 win over Dallas and the tie at Washington. Philadelphia is 1-0 in the division, Dallas 1-1 and Washington 0-2-1. Under the NFL's tiebreaking procedures, division record is the second tiebreaker between two teams from the same division, after head-to-head results.

The Giants play at the Houston Texans on Sunday. Dallas plays at Philadelphia on Monday night, and Washington has a bye. The Giants' bye is in Week 8, and they play at Philadelphia on Nov. 8.

Coach John Harbaugh said at his Monday news conference that the team was "honing in on a decision" at quarterback. The Giants have not named a Week 7 starter.
