Overview
Tremaine Edmunds signed with the Giants in March 2026 free agency on a three-year, $36 million contract that includes $23.7 million guaranteed, adding a veteran to New York's linebacker corps. Buffalo drafted Edmunds 16th overall out of Virginia Tech in 2018, and he made the Pro Bowl in 2019 and 2020 before signing with Chicago as a free agent in 2022.
Over eight NFL seasons, Edmunds has recorded 900 tackles, 43 tackles for loss, 14 interceptions, 59 passes defensed, 8.5 sacks and four forced fumbles. Giants general manager Joe Schoen, who worked in Buffalo's front office during Edmunds' rookie years, pushed for the signing.
Edmunds played in the Giants' 28-20 Week 1 win over Dallas. At 6-foot-4 and 251 pounds, he is expected to handle both run-stopping and coverage duties at inside linebacker, a role the Giants lacked last season.
