Harbaugh says 'Yes' when asked if Beckham has done enough to make Giants' roster
The head coach wouldn't preview the 53-man roster after Friday's finale, but gave a direct answer on one player, per The Athletic's Dan Duggan.
John Harbaugh declined to preview the New York Giants' 53-man roster after Friday's 23-6 preseason-finale win over the Jets at MetLife Stadium. Asked directly whether Odell Beckham Jr. had done enough to make the team, the head coach gave a one-word answer:
"Yes."
The Athletic's Dan Duggan reported the exchange from Harbaugh's postgame media availability.
Beckham finished the finale with three catches on six targets for 53 yards. He got behind the Jets' defense for what should have been a 73-yard touchdown. Jameis Winston's pass was slightly overthrown, and the ball came loose when Beckham hit the ground on a diving attempt, according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan.
Beckham was asked about his own performance afterward, according to the New York Post's Paul Schwartz.
"I'm pleased with what I did. But always looking for more."
Asked what making the roster would mean to him, Beckham said, per Schwartz:
"It would be a great day."
The Giants carried 90 players into the finale and, per Giants.com's postgame recap, must cut down to 53 by 6 p.m. ET Sunday.
