Giants QB Jaxson Dart Exits MNF Game at Rams With Left Knee Injury
Dart is officially questionable to return after leaving in the first quarter on a play in which Rams lineman Byron Young was credited with a hit on him; Jameis Winston has taken over at quarterback for New York.
Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart left Monday night's game against the Los Angeles Rams in the first quarter with a left knee injury and is officially questionable to return, ESPN reported.
Dart was hurt on a third-and-8 incomplete pass with 11:28 left in the first quarter, on a play in which Rams defensive lineman Byron Young was credited with a quarterback hit, according to ESPN's play-by-play. He walked off the field under his own power, limping; he was not carted off.
Dart finished 3 of 5 passing for 20 yards before exiting. Jameis Winston replaced him at quarterback.
The Rams led 7-0 on a 31-yard touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford to Davante Adams late in the first quarter. The score remained 7-0 midway through the second quarter, with Dart still out and no update on his return.
The severity of Dart's knee injury had not been reported by a named source as of Monday night. His official designation remained questionable, and the Giants had not ruled him out.
