Giants CB Deonte Banks, Rams WR Puka Nacua Both Inactive for Monday Night Football
Rookie Colton Hood starts opposite Greg Newsome II in Banks's place. The Athletic's Dan Duggan reports McFadden's inactive designation freed a roster spot for a fourth running back, with Darius Alexander sitting as a healthy scratch.
Giants cornerback Deonte Banks (calf) and Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua (hip) were both inactive for Monday Night Football at SoFi Stadium, the teams announced.
Rookie Colton Hood started opposite Greg Newsome II in Banks's spot, according to New York Giants On SI's Patricia Traina. In a corresponding move, the Giants signed cornerback Nikko Reed to the active roster from the Los Angeles Chargers' practice squad, the team said.
The Giants' full inactive list: Banks, linebacker Micah McFadden (neck), tight end Thomas Fidone II, offensive lineman J.C. Davis, defensive linemen Bobby Jamison-Travis and Darius Alexander, and safety Jason Pinnock. The Rams' inactives: Nacua, safety Kamren Kinchens (hamstring), wide receiver Jordan Whittington (quadriceps), wide receiver C.J. Daniels, offensive lineman Bill Murray and emergency third quarterback Ty Simpson.
The Athletic's Dan Duggan wrote on X that the Giants "overlooked McFadden's questionable status since he was limited all week," adding: "That's likely how they got the spot for a fourth RB." Duggan also reported that Alexander, a 2025 third-round pick, was a healthy scratch rather than an injury-related one.
Banks started over Paulson Adebo in Week 1 before his calf injury. Adebo went on injured reserve last week and will miss at least four games.
