Brian Burns to Have MRI on Knee After Leaving Giants' Win Over Titans
Burns came into the game with an ankle sprain and did not start. Coach John Harbaugh said the team won't know more until it sees the MRI.
Giants outside linebacker Brian Burns will have an MRI on his knee after he was hurt in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 12-7 win over the Tennessee Titans, coach John Harbaugh said at his postgame news conference.
"There is some hope there, but we won't know until we see the MRI," Harbaugh said. He said the MRI could come as soon as Sunday night.
Burns went out with 11:02 to play. The Giants listed him with a knee injury during the game.
Burns was already playing through an ankle injury. He sprained his ankle Monday night against the Los Angeles Rams, did not practice all week and was listed as questionable for Sunday's game. Outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux started instead, and Burns came off the bench.
The Giants (2-1) host the Arizona Cardinals on Oct. 4.
