Giants Lose Burns (Ankle) and Thomas (Groin) Late in Rams Blowout
Rams center Coleman Shelton rolled onto Burns' ankle in the fourth quarter; Thomas limped off separately soon after, on a night that had already cost the Giants Jaxson Dart to a knee injury.
The Giants lost edge rusher Brian Burns and left tackle Andrew Thomas to injuries in the fourth quarter of Monday night's 28-6 loss to the Rams at SoFi Stadium, dropping New York to 1-1.
With 6:04 remaining, per Giants.com's instant analysis, Rams center Coleman Shelton rolled onto Burns' left ankle and pinned it to the ground. Two athletic trainers helped Burns off the field, Pro Football Talk's Charean Williams reported. Head coach John Harbaugh called it a low ankle sprain afterward, SNY reported.
Thomas left separately with a groin injury, limping off late in the fourth quarter, Williams reported. Neither player returned before the game ended. The Giants had not issued a further diagnosis or return timetable for either player as of early Tuesday.
The injuries came on a night that also cost the Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart a knee injury and briefly cost them receiver Malik Nabers a shoulder injury; Nabers returned to finish the game. The Giants, now 1-1, next play the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
