ESPN's Jordan Raanan also reported Friday, in a report relayed by NBC Sports, that Dart's surgery is happening that day, corroborating the timing independently of Flanigan's report. Raanan's report did not include a recovery figure.
The Giants had not posted their own confirmation of a surgery date on Giants.com as of Friday afternoon.
ESPN's Jordan Raanan has reported Dart's knee injury includes damage to the meniscus and MCL; Schefter has also reported PCL damage. Harbaugh said Wednesday that Dart is out for the regular season and would need surgery, without specifying a date, and would not rule out a playoff return, saying it "depends on the recovery."
CBS Sports reported the Giants placed Dart on injured reserve Thursday.
The four-to-six-month recovery figure Flanigan reported matches the range NFL Network's Mike Garafolo cited earlier in the week.
