Giants Inactives: Banks, Nubin Out vs. Titans; Burns Active
Jake Haener backs up Jameis Winston in the Giants' first game without Jaxson Dart, and both Titans players listed as questionable are active.
Cornerback Deonte Banks and safety Tyler Nubin are inactive for the Giants' game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday at MetLife Stadium. Outside linebacker Brian Burns is active.
All three were listed as questionable on Friday's final injury report, Banks and Nubin with calf injuries and Burns with an ankle injury. Burns has been working back from a low ankle sprain suffered in the Week 2 loss to the Rams.
The Giants' other inactives are running back Devin Singletary, tight end Thomas Fidone II, offensive lineman J.C. Davis and defensive linemen Josh Tupou and Bobby Jamison-Travis.
Jameis Winston makes his first start of the season in place of Jaxson Dart, who is on injured reserve and will miss the rest of the regular season with the knee injury he suffered on the opening drive of the Rams game. Jake Haener, signed from the practice squad to the 53-man roster Saturday, is the backup. Winston and Haener are the only quarterbacks on the active roster.
Left tackle Andrew Thomas, who missed Thursday's practice with a groin injury and was a full participant Friday, carried no game designation and is active. Wide receiver Braxton Berrios and linebacker Malik Harrison were elevated from the practice squad Saturday.
Tennessee's inactives are running back Michael Carter, cornerback Jaylon Jones, guard Atonio Mafi, tackle Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson, tight end Kylen Granson and defensive tackle Jackie Marshall. Cornerback Cor'Dale Flott, a former Giant, and running back Tyjae Spears were questionable and are active.
