Harbaugh: Jaxson Dart's Knee Injury 'In the Neighborhood' of MCL Sprain
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported Monday night that sources believe Dart has a sprained MCL; X-rays were negative and the MRI remains pending.
Giants head coach John Harbaugh said Tuesday that quarterback Jaxson Dart's left knee injury is "in the neighborhood" of a sprained MCL, according to The Athletic's Charlotte Carroll and Dan Duggan. "We'll know tomorrow," Harbaugh said. "That's in the neighborhood of it, I would say."
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on X Monday night, shortly after Dart was ruled out, that sources believe he has a sprained MCL. "X-Rays were negative and the MRI is coming Tuesday," Rapoport wrote, citing Mike Garafolo as a co-source. "Dart is expected to miss some time, though in general, positive news."
Asked whether he was relieved the injury wasn't more severe, Harbaugh added: "The fact that it's not that outcome that you're talking about, the devastating outcome, is really good news," according to NFL.com.
Running back Cam Skattebo said Dart wanted to return to Monday's game but was held out by the medical staff. "He told me he wanted to get back out there and the doctors kind of told him no," Skattebo said, according to SNY. Skattebo added he expects Dart back "in the next few weeks."
Dart's MRI results had not been made public as of this writing. He was ruled out in the first quarter of Monday's 28-6 loss to the Rams; Jameis Winston finished the game at quarterback.
