Prescott Is 14-3 Against the Giants. Dennard Wilson's 'No Free Access' Defense Faces Him for the First Time.

The defense he faces Sunday night at MetLife Stadium — 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC — is the first the Giants have fielded under coordinator Dennard Wilson, who described his coverage philosophy Thursday as "no free access, no easy completions," according to the team's transcript of his media availability. Wilson ran Tennessee's defense the past two seasons, per his team biography, and has never coordinated a defense against Prescott.

The Cowboys are 3-point favorites, with the total at 47.5 and the moneyline at Dallas -166 and Giants +140 at DraftKings as of 11:40 a.m. ET Sunday, according to ESPN's odds page, which also shows the line opened at Dallas -2.5 and puts ESPN's own model at 59% for Dallas. Wilson, at the same availability, said of Prescott: "He's very decisive with where he's going with the ball, he gets the ball out of his hands quick." Press coverage against a quarterback who releases quickly is the matchup. The Giants' depth chart lists Deonte Banks and Greg Newsome II as the starting outside cornerbacks, with Paulson Adebo and Colton Hood behind them and Dru Phillips at nickel. Asked Thursday whether he could really sit out, he said: "The decision is the decision. Everyone has to understand that, at the end of the day, it's my career. It's my body. I know when I'm able to play," according to the team's transcript. Asked whether he could practice all three days and still not play, he said, "That's a possibility." Giants coach John Harbaugh, asked Wednesday whether Nabers would play, said, "We'll find out on Sunday night," according to that day's transcript; asked Friday whether Nabers could wake up Sunday and not be ready, he said, "To me, you can never rule out anything," per Friday's transcript. Jaxson Dart, in his second season as the starter, beat Dallas in the last meeting: 22 of 32 for 230 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in a 34-17 win on Jan. 4, according to Pro Football Reference's box score. He completed 63.7% of his passes for 2,272 yards, 15 touchdowns and five interceptions as a rookie and ran 86 times for 487 yards and nine touchdowns, per his Pro Football Reference page. His carries ranked fourth among quarterbacks, his rushing yards third and his rushing touchdowns tied for second, per the site's 2025 rushing table. "We want Jaxson to be able to play fast. We want him to be himself," offensive coordinator Matt Nagy said at his Thursday media availability, according to the team's transcript. Darnell Mooney, Isaiah Likely and Odell Beckham Jr. give him more options than he had a year ago.

The Giants allowed 5.3 yards per carry last season, the most in the NFL, and 2,470 rushing yards, second-most, according to Pro Football Reference's team-defense table. Javonte Williams ran 18 times for 97 yards and a touchdown and caught six passes for 33 yards against them on Sept. 14, 2025, per the box score.
